Hello November!

Autumn is officially here, and I couldn't be happier! The weather in Oklahoma has finally cooled off, making it the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors.

Last week, we took a trip to the Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch in Arcadia—a family tradition we look forward to every year. This place has everything you could want in a fall outing: tons of pumpkins, adorable farm animals, hayrides, a corn maze, and a gift shop full of delicious treats. We loaded up a whole wagon of pumpkins this year, and it’s been a blast decorating our home with the different colors and shapes.

November is all about gratitude, family, and friends. I absolutely love this season; it’s such a wonderful time to pause and reflect on all we have to be thankful for.

To help foster gratitude this Thanksgiving season, I've put together a couple of printables to make it easy to keep track of your blessings. These adorable designs can be used to create a banner, a bulletin board, or even a gratitude apple tree. You can find the printable here—perfect for bringing a little extra joy and thankfulness into your home this month.

Setting aside a few minutes each day to reflect on and appreciate life’s little blessings is a rewarding habit. These thoughtfully designed pages make it easy to capture your thoughts and express thankfulness. Simple yet impactful, they’re available here for you to enjoy.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and have many many days to show thanks to the Lord for all he has given this year.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

I’d love to hear what you're grateful for this year! Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Navigating the Feelings of Christmas

As I sit here in my kitchen, listening to the pitter-patter of rain, I find myself reflecting on the whirlwind that was November. I adore the calming sound of rain, but tornado warnings this late in the year? Not so much. It’s strange how quickly the holiday season sneaks up on us. Every year, I tell myself I’ll be prepared, but instead, I over-plan and overwhelm myself. I make lists upon lists, brainstorm ideas until my I drive myself crazy, all in an effort to create a holiday that feels precious and memorable. When I was a child, this time of year was pure magic. The sights, the smells, the sounds—it all captivated my imagination. Growing up in a house where I believed in Santa, I pondered the mystery of how he’d squeeze down our chimney to deliver toys. The true magic, though, was Christmas morning: waking up at the crack of dawn and running to the living room to see the gifts Santa had left. That joy, that wonder, is something I’ve worked hard to recreate for my own kids. For years...

Beaver Moon: Full Moon in November

Did you know that each full moon of the year has its own unique name? I have to admit, I didn't realize this myself until I started homeschooling my boys. I always knew about the full moons, but I had no idea that each month's moon has its own special name and meaning.  When is the full moon? The full moon will be big and bright in the sky on Friday, November 15, 2024. This year we are in for a special treat because it's our last Supermoon for the year! The Beaver Moon This month's full moon is called the Beaver Moon. The name comes from this time of year when beavers are busy preparing for winter by gathering food and building a cozy shelter to keep warm. Beavers make sure they have everything they need to get through the season, just like us chopping wood and making delicious soup in preparation for the cold weather.  Next Full Moon Next month's moon will be the Cold Moon on Saturday, December 14.  It's exciting to learn the names and what meaning they have.
